Extending Sex-Positivity to Work With Parents of LGBTQ+ Youth (Archived)

Parents and guardians of LGBTQ+ youth play a vital role in their children’s wellness and resilience. Dr. Knutson builds on sex-positive approaches to affirming health care for LGBTQ+ youth and will extend those approaches to clinical work with parents and families. Consistent with a sex positive framework, he discusses unique, clinically relevant challenges faced by parents of LGBTQ+ youth. Dr. Knutson also provides sex-positive solutions and clinical strategies designed to address those challenges and increase family health and cohesion.
