Understanding and Treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (Archived)

Jonathan Abramowitz, PhD

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) affects 1–3% of the population and is ranked among the top 10 causes of functional disability. Cognitive-behavioral approaches to understanding OCD, however, have led to the development of effective psychological interventions. In this webinar Dr. Abramowitz will examine the often-confusing symptoms of OCD, before turning to contemporary cognitive-behavioral models of how these symptoms are maintained. Dr. Abramowitz will then present current psychological interventions and the evidence for their effectiveness.
