Unmasking Microaggressions in a Clinical Setting (Archived)
Often times, we make snap judgments of people we interact with, categorizing them according to various characteristics. This may unintentionally lead to microaggressions—which are subtle, covert forms of discrimination that may have detrimental impacts on interactions with clients or co-workers.
Dr. Ryan Warner discusses practical strategies to help attendees identify microaggressions and the actions we can take to mitigate them. Additionally, coping strategies for those who experience microaggressions will be discussed. Together we will engage in dialogue and focus on how we can come together to create more inclusive environments and workplaces.
