Description
This webinar will provide a guide for clinicians working with clients experiencing pregnancy loss. The session will begin by reviewing important facts and common misconceptions about pregnancy loss that are critical for clinicians treating this population to be familiar with. The latter half of the session will focus on specific clinical tools and techniques to support clients in grieving and healing from pregnancy loss.

Stephanie Schuette, PhD
Stephanie Schuette holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University. Dr. Schuette is an embedded provider at the Duke Fertility Center and specializes in supporting patients in coping with reproductive stressors including infertility, pregnancy loss, perinatal mood disorders, and adjustment to parenthood. Dr. Schuette also has expertise in Third Party Reproduction, supporting patients using gamete donors and gestational carriers to build their families.
Dr. Shelby Alsup
Dr. Shelby Alsup is a clinical psychologist embedded at Spring Fertility in Portland, Oregon, and works will patients across all Spring Fertility clinics in the U.S. She is trained in supporting the wide-ranging emotional aspects of reproductive medicine spanning family planning, infertility, conception, the perinatal period, and early child development. She has specialized training in all aspects of third-party reproduction including gamete donation, gestational carrier arrangements, and treatment-related issues. Her research currently focuses on third-party reproduction, mental health outcomes of fertility patients, and organizational initiatives.
